• .bat script : loop over files and save command to variable

  I want to shorten a folder of movies to cut the last part of it. To do that I use ffmpeg & ffprobe.
The time to be cut off is 5.52 seconds.
If I want to do that, first I have to get the time of the movie and then (the second command in the loop), I have to subtract the 5.52 seconds.

  


  For now I have the following but I can't get it right :

 ffprobe -v error -show_entries format=duration -of default=noprint_wrappers=1:nokey=1 "FOLDER\%%~na.mp4"
 ffmpeg -i "FOLDER\%%~na.mp4" -t 18.6 -c copy output.mp4

pause


  


  In the above code example the "ffprobe" calculates the time of the movie.
The "ffmpeg" renders the movie again for 18.6 seconds. But the time should be calculated by subtract 5.52 seconds from the "ffprobe" result.

  


  Can anyone help me please on how to do this ?

  


• Encoding SWF to video with Melt

  I’m doing a project which requires converting SWF movies to H.264 video on server-side, to be able to play them both in Flash player and on iPhone/iPad. And I really got stuck.

  I’m using Melt from http://www.mltframework.org/ and this is my command-line :

  melt movie.swf -consumer avformat:video.mp4 r=30 s=640x360 f=mp4 acodec=aac ab=128k ar=48000 vcodec=libx264 b=1000k an=1

  It does play in Flash player, but fails to play on iDevices. I googled for iPhone video requirements and it seems my video files do satisfy them(frame size, framerate and bitrate). What settings should I change to make it play ?

  I installed ffmpeg using Homebrew in macOS 12.2. I have a folder of MOD files from an old camera that I need to convert to MOV or MP4 to edit them, I have a .bat file in my Windows machine that I can run on a folder that has MOD files to batch convert them to MP4 or MOV that I can easily tweak but I'm kinda clueless with how to do this on my new (and first) Mac, I came across this script that I managed to use once through the terminal but tried putting it in a executable file so I can easily run it and copy it in every folder that I need to for new projects. When I created the exec file I'm not sure if I did it correctly though.

  This script is inside an exec file that I edited using TextEdit, it works sometimes if I go to the directory through the terminal and run it but if I run it double clicking it I get a ".MOD : Not such file or directory" even though I placed the exec on a folder that has multiple .MOD files.
