• How to transcode to another video parameters ? [on hold]

  Google, man pages and any docs I found didn t shown anything relevant so...

  I want to be able to concatene video with ffmpeg, this part is simple, but fail (freeze or massive frame dropping) if the videos don t have the same properties.

  But for now, I didn t found anything else but trying to set a lot of options, expecting to get the good properties... But when they aren t rounded down (or up), you just can t set them (tbr, tbn...).

  So my question is, is there any hidden option in ffmpeg to take the properties of another video (so -copy won t work) as the properties of the transcode.

  For now, my command is ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -c:v h264 -c:a libfdk_aac -aspect 16:9 -b:v 753k -b:a 44k output.mp4

  But it turn out that output.mp4 reveal :

  As we can see, audio bitrate is rounded, tbn is off the chart, general bitrate isn t the same and on and on and on...

  Is there any better way but to add options again and again and hope that nothing will be rounded ? Something like ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -use_properties_of model.mp4 output.mp4 ?

• FFMPEG Scene Detection - Trim Blank Background from Video at the Start and End

  Summary :
  Need to programatically trim video when scene is not changing at the beginning & end.

  (Quality is much higher in the real video)

  Background :

  Large number of videos for online store, each video begins with a blank background, then the model walks on (at a random time, few seconds), and then walks off after a random time (around 15 seconds). The end of the video is trimmed seemingly random ; could be up to 15 seconds of ’nothing’ at the end of the video.

  The camera does not move. There is no sound on the videos.
  The videos come from a camera in MOV format, sideways.

  I already have FFMPEG converting from MOV to MP4, rotating the video, adding an audio-track, and trimming the audio at the end of the video.

  Research :
  I understand that I should probably re-encode video with a very high (?) tolerance for i-frames (so that only two are made per video) and then export the times to a text file, and use the text file to cut the video (probably parse it in BASH and use that to build the FFMPEG commands).

  Does anyone have any idea how I could generate just two key-frames per video ?

  I am trying to upload video to my website with paperclip and it work perfectly locally but in heroku I got this error

  I did few research on this issue and it said that i have to add this to my heroku buildpack but when i add it my heroku website crashed. so I remove it. Is there any other solution ?
