  • Multilang : améliorer l’interface pour les blocs multilingues

    Multilang est un plugin supplémentaire qui n’est pas activé par défaut lors de l’initialisation de MediaSPIP.
    Après son activation, une préconfiguration est mise en place automatiquement par MediaSPIP init permettant à la nouvelle fonctionnalité d’être automatiquement opérationnelle. Il n’est donc pas obligatoire de passer par une étape de configuration pour cela.

    MediaSPIP 0.2 est la première version de MediaSPIP stable.
    Sa date de sortie officielle est le 21 juin 2013 et est annoncée ici.
    Le fichier zip ici présent contient uniquement les sources de MediaSPIP en version standalone.
    Comme pour la version précédente, il est nécessaire d’installer manuellement l’ensemble des dépendances logicielles sur le serveur.
    Si vous souhaitez utiliser cette archive pour une installation en mode ferme, il vous faudra également procéder à d’autres modifications (...)

  • Is it possible to change volume with no reencode with ffmpeg ?

    I just had this question because I used the following command with ffmpeg :

    



    ffmpeg -i input.wav -filter:a "volume=0.2" output.wav


    



    Following the documentation here : https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/AudioVolume

    



    However, when I created the new file, the output was half the size of the input and the bitrate of the audio track was reduced as well.

    



    So my questions are :

    



      

    1. Is the bitrate supposed to decrease with decreasing and increasing volume like so ?

      2. 


    2. Is it possible to change volume without reencoding with ffmpeg ?

  • Changing volume halfway through video using FFmpeg ?

    I’m trying to use the fluent-ffmpeg NPM module in an application to decrease the volume of the audio in the first half of a video, then increase the volume when it reaches the midway point. I’ve wrote this code to try to do that :

    However, whenever I run this code, the volume levels of output.mp4 are exactly the same as test.mp4. What do I do ?

  • GOP size for realtime video stream

    I’m working on a kind of rich remote desktop system, with a video stream of the desktop encoded using avcodec/x264. I have to set manually the GOP size for the stream, and so far I was using a size of fps/2.
    But I’ve just read the following on Wikipedia :

    This structure [Group Of Picture@ suggests a problem because the fourth frame (a P-frame) is needed in order to predict the second and the third (B-frames). So we need to transmit the P-frame before the B-frames and it will delay the transmission (it will be necessary to keep the P-frame).

    It means I’m creating a lot of latency since the client needs to receive at least half of the GOP to output the first frame following the I frame. What is the best strategy for the GOP size if I want the smallest latency possible ? A gop of 1 picture ?
